Presentation about Masat-1 at the New Technology Meetup

The Budapest New Technology Meetup Group has requested a presentation about the development of Masat-1. The goal was to give a general introduction and some software related issues were also mentioned. Please have a look at the pictures in the Galery.

The new antennas have arrived

We would like to thank BHE Bonn Hungary Ltd. and BL-Electronic, for the high gain antennas for the 70 cm (BHE) and 2 m (BL) band.

The Masat-1 modell which flew on the meteorological balloon operates on building BME V2

Frequency: 437,345 MHz USB
Power: 200mW
Data: 64 byte data packages, and every byte equals to 0xE4
Modulation: CW (only the HA5MASAT call sign) and FSK, +/- 625 Hz deviation

The order of the packets is the following

  1. Call sign CW
  2. Long carrier
  3. Call sign CW
  4. 10 packets 600 bit/sec FSK, Call sign between the packages
  5. 10 packets 600 bit/sec GFSK, Call sign between the packages
  6. 10 packets 1200 bit/sec FSK, Call sign between the packages
  7. 10 packets 1200 bit/sec GFSK, Call sign between the packages
  8. 10 packets 2400 bit/sec FSK, Call sign between the packages
  9. 10 packets 2400 bit/sec GFSK, Call sign between the packages
  10. and start again from the first…
Pico and Nano Satellites Workshop

The Pico and Nano Satellites Workshop will be held between 1 and 2 October 2009, where the team developing the Masat-1 small satellite will also represent Hungary. The main objective of the workshop is to introduce the technology required for the research activities performed by small satellites, and, naturally, to give an overview on the active developments at the universities constructing satellites. The host institution (Universität Würzburg) can already be proud of two successfully launched satellites built by students. The CubeSat called UWE-1 was launched on 27 October 2005, while UWE-2 on 29 September 2009. This second small satellite was taken to orbit by a PSLV rocket from India, just as it is intended in case of Masat-1. Ádám Cseh, a student graduated from BME, was also involved in the development of UWE-2.

CAD-Terv PLM Day 2009

One of the most notable events of the engineering community, the CAD-Terv PLM Day 2009 will be organized this year by CAD-Terv Kft. DS PLM solutions, as focal points in the developments and innovations of ENOVIA SmarTeam and CATIA will also be presented. The agenda is further enriched by professional and technical demonstrations, exhibitions and games. Visit the event if you wish to learn more about the design software with which the structural elements of the satellite Masat-1 have been designed. Further details about the program are available on this page.
